Acme Screw Machines: Reliable and High-Productivity Turned Parts Manufacturing

Acme Screw Machines have long been a cornerstone in the turned parts industry, known for their reliability and high productivity. These machines, available in four, six, and eight spindle configurations, have garnered a strong reputation globally. The American-designed Acme multiple spindle screw machine's robust and efficient configuration was so esteemed that it inspired Asian and European versions manufactured by Mitsubishi and BSA, respectively.

Versatile and Productive

Acme Screw Machines are utilized worldwide, with numerous special attachments and tools developed over the years to enhance their capabilities. These machines are adept at producing components for a wide range of industries, including electronics, defense, medical, and aerospace. They are primarily used for high-volume production runs, where their extensive tooling requirements are justified by their exceptional output and efficiency. While they are not ideal for short runs, they excel in scenarios demanding high productivity.

Material and Configuration

These machines are versatile enough to handle various materials, from brass and aluminum to stainless steel and titanium. The six-spindle machines are the most commonly used, but the eight-spindle variants are particularly beneficial for producing complex designs in high volumes. The Acme family of machines accommodates bar capacities ranging from 7/16" to 8". Previously, Cox Mfg utilized Acme Screw Machines with a maximum bar diameter capacity of 1 ¼", but has since transitioned to newer CNC models for their advanced capabilities.

Acme Screw Machines continue to be a vital asset in high-volume production environments, offering reliability and efficiency across multiple industries. Their ability to handle a broad range of materials and complex designs makes them indispensable for manufacturers worldwide.
